In Karnataka, Mandya District, Nagamangala Taluk, Belluru Hobli, Honnenahalli Post, M.Kodihalli village,
there exists a sacred place of the goddess Sri
Kantyamma Devi Punya Kshetra, which has a
history dating back about 300–400 years.
As narrated by elders, several miraculous incidents and divine signs of the goddess have taken
place here in the past, and even today many villagers and devotees continue to experience her
divine presence as an absolute truth.
Around 150 years ago, Sri.Lingappa and his
wife Smt.Hombalamma, along with their
parents, used to worship the goddess in a small shrine with mud walls. Devotees from M.Kodihalli
village, nearby villages, and even far-off places used to visit this sacred site to
offer prayers, fulfill vows, and perform services.
After the time of Sri.Lingappa and his wife
Smt.Hombalamma, the temple gradually became
dilapidated over 100–200 years due to various reasons. Yet, devotees occasionally continued to
visit and perform worship at the ruined shrine.
By the grace of the goddess, the elders and youth of the village recognized the significance of
this holy place. With complete support from the descendants of the family — late
K.L.Huchchappa (School Master) and late
Smt.Nanjamma’s son
Sri K.H.Vedamurthy, along with his
wife Smt.Parvathamma Kalyanamma and their
children
Sri.K.V.Lingan Rakesh,
Smt.Lalitha Rani K. V and
Smt.Lavanya V and under the guidance of
respected elders, scholars, and spiritual
leaders, the reconstruction of the temple was successfully completed.
In accordance with auspicious timings and royal yogas suggested by priests and acharyas, the
newly rebuilt temple inauguration and consecration of the goddess idol was grandly performed on
1st and 2nd February 2023 (Wednesday and
Thursday).
ಆತ್ಮೀಯರೇ, ಕರ್ನಾಟಕ, ಮಂಡ್ಯ ಜಿಲ್ಲೆ, ನಾಗಮಂಗಲ ತಾಲ್ಲೂಕ, ಬೆಳ್ಳೂರು ಹೋಬಳಿ, ಹೊನ್ನೇನಹಳ್ಳಿ ಅಂಚೆ, ಎಂ. ಕೋಡಿಹಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಸುಮಾರು 300 - 400 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಹಿಂದಿನ ಇತಿಹಾಸವುಳ್ಳ ದೇವಿಯ ಆವಾಸ ಸ್ಥಳವೇ ಶ್ರೀ ಕಂತ್ಯಮ್ಮ ದೇವಿ ಪುಣ್ಯ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರ. ಹಿರಿಯರು ತಿಳಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಈ ಜಾಗದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಿಯ ಹಲವಾರು ವಿಶೇಷ ಪವಾಡಗಳು ಮುನ್ಸೂಚನೆಗಳು ಜರುಗಿರುವುದು ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಈಗಲೂ ಕೂಡ ಊರಿನ ಅನೇಕ ಮಂದಿಗೆ ಮತ್ತು ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳ ಅನುಭವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿರುವುದು ಅಕ್ಷರಶಃ ಸತ್ಯ. ಸುಮಾರು 150 ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಹಿಂದೆ ದಿ|| ಶ್ರೀ ಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪ ಮತ್ತು ಅವರ ಪತ್ನಿ ದೀ|| ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಹೊಂಬಾಳಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ತಂದೆ ತಾಯಿಗಳು ಮಣ್ಣಿನ ಗೋಡೆಯಿಂದ ಕಟ್ಟಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಒಂದು ಸಣ್ಣ ಗುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಅಲಂಕರಿಸಿದ ದೇವಿಯ ಈ ಆವಾಸ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂಜಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದು ದೇವಿಯ ದರ್ಶನಕ್ಕೆ ಎಂ. ಕೋಡಿಹಳ್ಳಿ ಗ್ರಾಮ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ಸುತ್ತಮುತ್ತಲ ಊರುಗಳಿಂದ ಮತ್ತು ದೂರದ ಊರುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳು ಬಂದು ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದಲ್ಲಿ ಪೂಜೆ - ಹರಕೆ ಸೇವೆ ನೀಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು ಎಂಬುದು ತಿಳಿದು ಬಂದಿರುತ್ತದೆ
ಶ್ರೀ ಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪ ಮತ್ತು ಇವರ ಪತ್ನಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಹೊಂಬಾಳಮ್ಮ ಅವರ ಕಾಲಘಟ್ಟ ನಂತರ ಸುಮಾರು 100-200 ವರ್ಷಗಳ ಕಾಲ ಕಾರಣಾಂತರಗಳಿಂದ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಶಿಥಿಲಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು, ಈ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಆಗಾಗ ಭಕ್ತಾದಿಗಳು ಬಂದು ಶಿಥಿಲಗೋಡಿದ್ದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಪೂಜೆ ಸಲ್ಲಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿರುತ್ತಾರೆ. ದೇವಿಯ ಅನುಗ್ರಹ ಎಂಬಂತೆ, ಊರಿನ ಹಿರಿಯರು - ಕಿರಿಯರು ಸೇರಿ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರದ ಮಹಿಮೆಯನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಶ್ರೀ ಲಿಂಗಪ್ಪ ಅವರ ಪತ್ನಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಹೊಂಬಾಳಮ್ಮ ಅವರ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನಾದ ದೀ|| ಕೆ. ಎಲ್. ಹುಚ್ಚಪ್ಪ (ಸ್ಕೂಲ್ ಮಾಸ್ಟರ್) ಮತ್ತು ದೀ|| ನಂಜಮ್ಮ ಅವರ ಪುತ್ರ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ. ಹೆಚ್. ವೇದಮೂರ್ತಿ, ಇವರ ಪತ್ನಿ ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಪಾರ್ವತಮ್ಮ ಕಲ್ಯಾಣಮ್ಮ ಹಾಗೂ ಅವರ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಶ್ರೀ ಕೆ. ವಿ. ಲಿಂಗನ್ ರಾಕೇಶ್, ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಲಲಿತಾ ರಾಣಿ ಕೆ. ವಿ. ಮತ್ತು ಶ್ರೀಮತಿ ಲಾವಣ್ಯ .ವಿ ಇವರ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣ ಬೆಂಬಲದೊಂದಿಗೆ ಗುರು-ಹಿರಿಯರ ಮಾರ್ಗದರ್ಶನದಂತೆ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಸುಸಜ್ಜಿತವಾಗಿ ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣಗೊಳಿಸಿದರು. ಗುರು-ಹಿರಿಯರು, ಪಂಡಿತರು ಮತ್ತು ಆಚಾರ್ಯರ ಸಲಹೆಯಂತೆ 01 ಮತ್ತು 02 ಫೆಬ್ರವರಿ 2023 (ಬುಧವಾರ ಮತ್ತು ಗುರುವಾರ) ದಿನದಂದು ಹೊಸದಾಗಿ ಪುನರ್ ನಿರ್ಮಾಣಗೊಂಡ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನ ಉದ್ಘಾಟನೆ ಮತ್ತು ದೇವಿಯ ಪ್ರತಿಮೆ ಪ್ರತಿಷ್ಠಾಪನೆ ಕಾರ್ಯಕ್ರಮವನ್ನು ಅದ್ದೂರಿಯಾಗಿ ನೆರವೇರಿಸಲಾಯಿತು.
